He was predeceased by: his parents, Merrill "Bud" Cunningham and Dorothy Jones Cunningham. He is survived by: his wife Jan; his children, Jeff (Destiny) and Sommer Tucker (James); his stepdaughters, Amber Phillips (Branson) and Megan Vanzant (Jason); his grandchildren, Jared Cunningham (Bryce), Shelby Robbins, Mason Buchanan, Max Cunningham and Cole Phillips; his great grandchild Kai; his sister Christy Wineinger (Calvin); his niece Amy Gehlhausen; and also Aaron Standley (Melissa).
