He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Edward and Dessie Kay Carter (Morton); and his wife Etta Kay Carter. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Nate Carter, Kody Carter, Bethany Carter and Dominick Smith; and his sister Brenda Wilson (Mike).

Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O. D. Harris Funeral Homes (705 Walnut St, Petersburg, IN 47567). A masonic service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Pike Masonic Lodge 121.
