She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlin Preston and Flossie Preston (Arnold); her sisters, Ruth Snyder and Carolyn Henson; and her brothers-in-law, Fred Malotte, Bob Snyder, James Bright and Elza Henson Jr..
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Carter; her children, Kevin Carter (Sherril) of Haubstadt, Angela Harting (Jeff) of Petersburg and Jeff Carter (Angie) of Petersburg; her grandchildren, Andrea Gravens (Jason), Stephanie Rumble (Justin), Braxton Harting (Natalie), Carly McCain (Ryan), Steven Neyhouse (Rachelle) and Aaron Neyhouse (Elizabeth); her great grandchildren, Bailey Gravens, Mason Gravens, Allysa Rumble, Drew Rumble, Carter McCain, Caleb McCain, Crosby McCain, Miles Harting, Lucas Harting, Madelyn Neyhouse and Wyatt Neyhouse; and her sister Esther Bright of Gallion. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Petersburg Free Methodist Church or the Linda E White Hospice House.
