It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Sue Thorne of Petersburg, Indiana, who passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Martha had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Martha may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kathryn Johnson (Barker) and Buell Johnson; her husband Robert Thorne; her daughter Rhea Dawn Thorne; and her grandson Cayce Thorne Roberts.
She is survived by: her cousins, Lana Weisman and John Johnson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the O. D. Harris Funeral Homes (705 Walnut St, Petersburg, IN 47567). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
