He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Hicks and Katherine Hicks (DuKate); his grandparents, Carl Hicks, Ruth Davis, Earl and Esther DuKate; his siblings, Donald Hicks and Lisa Cannon (Hicks); his nephew Donald Hicks Jr.; and his niece Bambi Cannon.
He is survived by: his sisters, Gwin Frederick (Dallas) of Petersburg and Evelyn Hicks of Petersburg. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many great friends.
