He was predeceased by: his parents, Hight Tegmeyer and Leah Tegmeyer (Kays); his wife Esther; and his siblings, William and Doris McDaniel.

He is survived by: his sons, Mark (Patty) and Alan Tegmeyer (Sharmon); his grandchildren, Evan Tegmeyer (Carly), Owen Tegmeyer (Isabella), Devin Tegmeyer (Danielle), Tyler, Riley, Gavin and Ayraessa Tegmeyer; and his sisters, Mary Helen Traylor (Bill) of Petersburg and Wilma Rumble (Carroll) of Fishers.
