He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pell and Evelyn Pell (Alsip); and his granddaughter Clara. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Blake Pell (Chelsea) of Bloomington and Lindsey Kiesel (Brian) of Petersburg; his grandchildren, Isaac, Lucy, Fiona and Amelia; and his brothers, John, Donald Pell (Paula) of Florida and Robert Pell (Jan) of Brazil, Indiana..

“I just came upon this sad news in a copy of ‘The Shield’ magazine. (Phi Kappa Psi) Jim and I were fraternity brothers in the early ‘70s, and roommates for a semester, and he was the one brother that I had email contact with since. I can still picture our room and remember the good times we had together. (Including a spring break trip to Florida.) My sincere condolences to his entire family. I am very saddened by this news.
