He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnol Shafer and Mildred M. Bishop Shafer; his brother Max A. Shafer; and his brother-in-law Harold H. Wilson. He is survived by: his siblings, Carolyn J. Wilson and Harold R. Shafer (Charlene); and his sister-in-law Suzanne Shafer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
