He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Place and Josephine Place; his brother Robert S. Place; his nephew Bradly Fouts; his parents-in-law, Dalton and Jean Griffith; his sister-in-law Carol Leedy; and his niece Laura Griffith.
He is survived by: his wife Laura Griffith Place (Laurie); his son James Channon Place (Susan); his granddaughter Hannah Place; his sister Patricia Fouts (Charlie) of Seymour; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Place of Texas, Dalton A. Griffith (Francia) of Las Vegas and Stan Leedy (Karma) of Plymouth.
Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team. (Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face coverings will be required and social distancing guidelines will be observed.).
Memorial donations may be made to the Denver Baptist Church, the Humane Society, and/or the Miami County Military Rites Team.
