She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Dennis Gunter and Esta Ola Gunter (Clayborn); her husband Jesse A. Melton; her daughter Kathy Sommers; her grandson Jeremy Love; her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Easterday and Beau Melton; and her brother Bob Gunter.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Melton of Louisiana, Richard Melton (Jody) of Milford, Karen Maggart (Jeff) of Akron and Kim Melton of Bunker Hill, Indiana.; her grandchildren, Shanna (Josh), Rochelle (Matt), Jessica (Levi), Amanda (Richie), Annie (MJ), Adam (Logan), Josie, Seth, Angie (Justin), Ashlyn, Kaelyn (Wyatt) and Mason; her great grandchildren, Hope, Gracie, Chelsea, Gunnar, Xander, Baylee, Izzy, London, Paris, Morgan, Maddie, Makenna, Tori, Jenna, Adaline and Jameson; and her siblings, Bill Gunter, Tom Gunter and Estelle Scott of Tennessee.
