He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Turpen and Mattie Opal Turpen; and his brothers, Roger "Rocky" Turpen, Jim Turpen and Charles Turpen.

He is survived by: his son Jim Turpen (Jen); and his brothers, Foster "Butch" Turpen (Karla) and Roy Turpen (Maureen). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
