He is survived by: his children, Brent Slater of Bunker Hill and Brenda Abbott (Chad) of Logansport, Indiana; his grandchildren, Austin Abbott of Logansport, Clint Abbott of Logansport, Shena Abbott of Logansport and Abbey Slater of Bunker Hill, Indiana; his sisters, Sandra Vaught of O'fallon, Paulette Kates (John) of Akron and Deanne Justice (Mike) of Plymouth, Indiana; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Nelson (Dave) of St. Louis, Craig Burnworth of Etna Green, Mandy Kates of Akron and Ryan Kates (Connie) of New Palestine, Indiana. He is also survived by five great nieces and nephews.
