We are sad to announce that on June 12, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Elizabeth Guthrie of Peru, Indiana. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom D. B. Thomas and Abbie Hasler Thomas; her husband James U Guthrie; and her siblings, David and Peggy.

She is survived by: her children, Dr. Thomas Guthrie (Linda), Helen Beth Gutin (David) and Abbie Guthrie; her grandchildren, Jonathan Guthrie (Becky), Meg Pennington (Justin), James Guthrie (Diann), Sarah Barsman (Zach) and Allie Weinberg (Zach); and her great grandchildren, Madi, Ella, Elaine, Elizabeth (Betsy), Rosalind (Ros), Tali, Abbie, Lilli, Marin and Eleanor James.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to "The Guthrie Family Community Fund" held at the Northern Indiana Community Foundation established to provide for local community needs. Memorial donations may also be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church in Peru.

“My mom graduated with Betsy from IU nursing program in 1949 Roselyn Maddox Also known as Babe LaRue. Betsy would call every year on mom's birthday and when I did not hear from her last October for mom's birthday I kind of knew that Betsy had moved on! Mom will be 94 this year and also at a trilogy facility. Some day that class of 49 will all be together again. I'm sorry for your loss, Betsy was a sweet woman who never forgot about her friend!”
