She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick B. Patten and Olive Blair; her husband Eldon W. Walt; her siblings, Virginia and Eugene; and her son-in-law Donald Matteson.
She is survived by: her children, Virginia Matteson of Clio, James Walt of Peru, John Walt (Tu) of Peru and Kathleen Kunkle (Rob) of Peru; and her grandchildren, Donna Matteson, Deborah Shamel, Betty Trombly, Donald Matteson, Jr., Christina Reiter, William Walt, Christopher Kunkle, Stacy Martin, Lesley Smith and Anh Nguyen. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
