He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilford "Bill" McCord and Dorothy McCord (Sells). He is survived by: his wife Deborah Sue Knotts-McCord; and his children, Kelly Jo Ellison (Karla) of Sarasota, Kristy Woodward of Indianapolis, Kyle Grant McCord (Lorely) of Bradley and Kirby Grant McCord (Melissa) of Carpentersville, Illinois. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
