He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgel E. Shelton and Alice E. Shelton (Hensley); his daughter Nannette E. Rose (Shelton); his great grandchildren, Cash Hunley and Francis Burge; and his siblings, Lowell M Shelton (Ruthann), Dorthea Hoeksema (Jim), Mary Katherine Rinker (G. Smith), Betty, Stella Louise Hopkins (Winifred) and Patty Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Satomi Shelton of Pendleton; and his children, Joseph D Shelton (Ginny) of Pendleton, Cyndy D Martin (John) of Kokomo and Sallie J Barnes (Eulas Jr) of Louisville. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
