He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Eldon and Dorothy Rebecca Schmitt (Grant). He is survived by: his wife Judith "Judy" (Smith); his sister Norma Lynn Hiatt; his children, Michael "Mike" Schmitt and Maureen Schmitt; and his grandchildren, Eldon and Macie Schmitt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
