He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Churchman and Josie Churchman (Graves); his brother Robert Churchman; and his son-in-law Ron Marker. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Churchman (Pirtle); his children, Paula Keltner (Cody), James Churchman (Kay), Karen Marker, John Churchman (Kim), Steven Churchman and David Churchman (Kim); and his siblings, Gene Churchman and Joellen Meahl. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
