He was predeceased by: his parents, James Orien Tomes and Ester Tomes (Kime); his daughter Janet Tomes; his granddaughter Jami Webb (Tomes); and his great grandchild Addison Hart.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Evellyn Tomes (Tankersley); his children, Karol Tomes of Clarksville, Indiana, Kathy Tomes of Nashville, TN and Jim Tomes of North Carolina; and his stepchildren, Gregory Kennedy of Pekin, Indiana and Beverly Kennedy of Pekin, Indiana.. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
