He is survived by: his wife Shirley Washam Coats; his children, Juanita Counts (Michael) of Florida, Steven Lloyd Coats (Jayme) of Salem, Jennifer Wynn (Mark) of Pekin, David Bird (Jessica) of Pekin and John Bird of Pekin; his siblings, Vincent Coats of Salem, James Coats of South Carolina, Mary Melendez of Salem, Donna Day of Salem and Karen White of Georgia; and his grandchildren, Daymean Punch, Emily Coats, Dylahn Coats and Eli Wynn. He is also survived by grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
