He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Pete and Martha Agnus Bixler (Butcher); his wife Grace Bixler; his son David Leon Bixler Jr.; and his siblings, Martha Deem, Shirley Bixler, Margret Allen, Ernest Bixler, Elvin Bixler, Ellis "Tub" Bixler, Stanley "Joe" Bixler and Russell Bixler.
He is survived by: his sons, Charles Bixler (Fran) and Don Bixler (Andrea); his siblings, Leafy "Peg" Hoffman, Raymond Bixler (Alisa) and Ella Neibel (Ronnie); and his grandchildren, Tiffani, David, Chris, Sarah, Jonathan and Joshua. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
