In the vast expanse of eternity, Barbara shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Barbara farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ermal "Paul" Smedley and Sabre W. Smedley (Jones); her daughter Rita Elrod; her brothers, Norman and Gerry Smedley; her brother-in-law Virgil Hurst (JR); and her fiancé Dave Elliott.
She is survived by: her daughter Terri Johnson (Charlie) of Pleasureville, Kentucky; her sister Eva Hurst (Virgil) of Pekin, Indiana; her son Roger Elliott of Pekin, Indiana; and her sister-in-law Pat Smedley (Penny) of Florida. She is also survived by her dog, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, several nieces and great nieces, nephews and great nephews, along with many cousins.
