She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Murphy and Bessie Murphy-Williams; her children, Cynthia Shanks and Paul "Sonny" E. Turner; her grandsons, J. D. Shanks and Fred Boles, Jr.; and her sister Violet Darrell.
She is survived by: her daughter Dorthea Boles (Fred Boles, Sr.); and her stepsons, Bob Dean (Mary Lee), Anderson and Tom Dean. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
