He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Gabbard (Wells); his stepfather Paul Gabbard; and his brother Woody Gabbard. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Dannette Atchison of Paoli; his children, Charlotte Anne Atchison (Bryce Taylor) of Clarksville and John Daniel "JD" Atchison of Clarksville; his siblings, Darrell Eugene Atchison of Paoli, Chris Crecelius (Debbie) of Marengo, Neil Gabbard of Marengo, Melissa Jane Shelton (Terry) of Sellersburg and April Neukam (James) of Zoe, KY; and his grandchildren, Ryan Whalin, Landon Atchison, Hayden Whalin, Cooper Rose Atchison and Patricia Grace Atchison.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McAdams Mortuary (500 SW 1st St, Paoli, IN 47454). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
