He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Chastain and Pearl Chastain (Gillum); his wife Patty Longest; and his siblings, Duane, Bennie Chastain, Joyce Jones and Marie Doan.

He is survived by: his sons, Terry Chastain (Marieta) of Mitchell, Randy Chastain of Paoli, Kim Chastain (Janet) of Paoli and David Chastain of Paoli.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Paoli Christian Church.
