He was predeceased by: his parents, Brance Melton and Ethel Florence "Essie" Melton Hackney (Thacker); his wife Nancy Manuel; and his brother Phil Melton. He is survived by: his children, Tim Melton (Cindy) of Hardinsburg, Cindy Curren (Rod) of Mitchell, Tammy Bowling (Keith) of Orleans, Roxanna Knowles of Mitchell and Crystal Jifkins (Dan) of Paoli; his stepchildren, Nellie Stevens (Rob) of Mitchell and Angel Wheeler of Mitchell; his daughters, Donna Richie and Cathy McFarland; his granddaughter Jennifer Bowden; his stepsons, Andy Riley and James Manuel; and his brother Paul Melton. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
