He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Dies and Velma G. Dies; his wife Mardelle Ruth Dies; his son Joseph L. Dies; and his brothers, Bill, Bob, Ronald and Jerry Dies.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory Scott Dies (Rita) of Knoxville, TN and Kelley S. Dies of Ossian, IN; his grandchildren, Greg, Jessica, Josey and Chelesa; his great grandchild Montgomery; his sisters, Donna DeLambo (Roger) of Akron, OH and Judy Shueller (Richard) of Akron, OH; and his siblings-in-law, Scott Glaze (Melissa), Susan Turk (Greg) and Karan Glaze.
