He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Roberts and Vivian L. Roberts (Walker); and his half-brother Robert Walker. He is survived by: his wife Ruby J. (Straw); his children, Duane E. Roberts of Ft. Wayne, Lynnette K. Walter (Nathan) of Cool Ridge, WV and Elizabeth R. Hauke (Andrew) of Ossian, IN; and his brothers, Larry E. Roberts (Barbara) of Bucyrus, OH and Richard E. Roberts (Sue) of Breckenridge, MI. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
