It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alta A. Hood of Ossian, Indiana, born in Niles, Michigan, who passed away on April 19, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Herbert Low; her children, Steve Hood and Vicky Burgess; her son-in-law Larry Wolfe; and her siblings, Larry Low, Annabelle Fishburn, Arletta Ringer and Alma Tarner.
She is survived by: her husband William Ray Hood of Decatur; her children, Regina Wolfe of Decatur and Alan Hood (Kim) of Niles, MI; her son-in-law Gary Burgess of Greensboro, NC; her brother Ron Low of Chicago, IL; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Pruitt (Tim), Ryan Wolfe (Sarah), Brandon Hood (Jeni), Josh Hood (Willow), Vicki Jo Burgess, Aaron Wolfe (Amber), Casey Hood (Kelly), Caity Daus (Kevin), Andrea Mason and Ethan Mason. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren; 4 great-great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
Preferred memorials are to Heart to Heart Hospice.
