He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Smock (Thola) and Byron L. Smock; and his grandson Chris Readling. He is survived by: his children, Dana Jones (Charlie) of Lafayette, TN and Shane Smock (Jana) of Scipio, IN; his grandchildren, Cara Maschino (Paul) of Lexington, IN, Ashley Readling (Andy Hales) of New Albany, IN and Dylan Smock (Kenzi Copley) of Scipio, IN; his great grandchildren, Connor and Gavin; his stepgrandchildren, Heather Stubblefield (Dusty) of Lafayette, TN and Kyle Jones (Ariel) of Murfreesboro, TN; his stepgreat-grandsons, Henry and Adam; his siblings, Ruth Ann Burdine of Huntsville, AL, Karen Decker of Greensburg, IN, Bonnie Grigsby of Cincinnati, OH and Bud Smock of Hephzibah, GA; and his nephew Brian Grigsby of Carmel, IN. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio County Animal Shelter or the Rising Sun American Legion.
