He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin D. Hughes and Verna Hughes (Hull); and his brother Harry Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Janet Tower; his daughter Teresa Ruggles (Steve) of Greensburg; his sisters, Opal LaBolt of Holton and Mollie Toops of Holton; his grandsons, Zacheriah Ruggles (Ali Wilson) of Greensburg and Trent Ruggles (Micheala Schroeder) of Osgood; and his great grandchildren, Briztol Ruggles, Augustus Woodson, Harper Ruggles and Hoyt Ruggles.
