He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Wade Thayer and Mary Kamman Thayer; and his sister Jane Ann Thayer. He is survived by: his wife Yolanda Kramer; his sons, Brian Wade Thayer of Osgood and Evan Gregory Thayer (Layla) of Rockport; his grandchildren, Wade, Wyatt, Kendall and Kramer; and his sister Kaye Callen (Steve) of Milan.

Memorials may be given to St. Judes, Shriner's Hospital, or the Osgood First Baptist building fund in care of the funeral home.
