He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnie Hammons and Myrtle Poindexter Hammons; and his siblings, Orville, John, Rolland, Philip, Katherine Fugate, Phoebe Statler, Louise Clark, June Goff and Juanita Landrum.
He is survived by: his wife Myrtle Byrd; his daughters, Melissa Hammons of Covington, KY and Michelle Byrd (Michael) of Covington, KY; his grandchildren, Cody Monroe and Brooke Heidenreich; and his brother Clarence Hammons of Florida.
