Judith Ann Boyer Obituary
Judith Ann "Judy" Boyer, 88, of Orleans, Ind., passed away, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, in Indianapolis. She was born Sept. 27, 1935, in New Albany, Indiana. A civic-minded member of her Orange County community, she, was active in many area organizations.
In 2014, she was named, Philanthropist of the Year by the Orange County Community Foundation for her work as a teacher of at-risk children and for, being the first children's librarian at the Orleans Public Library, among other activities. She served many years on the board of directors for Orange County Habitat for Humanity, in addition, to volunteering in seven national and international Jimmy Carter Work Projects for Habitat International. She served many years as a volunteer tour guide at the West Baden Springs Hotel and, was a member of the Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau board of directors.
She was involved with the Orleans Chamber of Commerce and was active in many, community projects. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin F. and Dorothy M. Fleischer, sister, Carolyn K. Stockdell, as well as by her husband, Rev. Carl R. "Pete" Boyer, who was, minister of the Paoli Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her son Tom (Terri) Boyer of Orleans, daughter Annie Boyer (Paul Hedges) of Indianapolis, granddaughter Gina (Keith) McDonald of Orleans, and great, grandson Oliver.
Judy Boyer was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching women's sports. She enjoyed spending time with Evelyn, her cat. She always said Evelyn was good, company.
Visitation at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home at 187 E. Jefferson St. in Orleans, Ind., will be, Thursday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with memorial service following.
