She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar B. Stewart and Rosie L. Stewart (Rogers); her husband Carleton V. Smith; her brothers, Donald R. Stewart and Duane Stewart; and her nephew Nathaniel Stewart.

She is survived by: her stepchildren, Carrie L. Smith of Angola, IN, Glenna J. Williams of Angola, IN and Paul C. Smith of Tok, AK; her brother William "Monroe" Stewart (Diana) of Orland, IN; and her nieces and nephews, Bobbie Daniels (Dale) of Angola, IN, Charity Smith (Kevin) of Indianapolis, IN, Melissa Lucio (Steve) of Fort Wayne, IN, Luke Stewart (Fran) of Italy and Timothy Stewart of Orland, IN. She is also survived by nine step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren.
