He is survived by: his mother Alice Hartman (Hicks) of Oolitic; his children, Angelique Floyd (Jay) of Bedford, James McDonald, Jr. (McKenzie) of Bedford, Christopher McDonald (Kristen) of Bedford, Jeremy McDonald (Sabrina) of Bedford, Courtney McDonald (Jamie Baker) of Bedford, Rebecca McDonald (Cody Compton) of Bedford, Richard McDonald of Marion, IN, Micheal McDonald and S. Navy; his grandchildren, Chloe, Brenston Floyd, Isabella, Dawson Baker, Brantley Compton, Gauge, Maylee, Finley, Mason, Baby Boy McDonald, Chris and Kristen; his stepgrandchildren, Dallas and Paisley Compton; his siblings, Tim McDonald (Melissa) of Bedford, Teresa Harris (Rob) of Bedford, Tammy Max (Karl) of Bedford, Mary Thomas (Alan) of Bedford, Lisa Wright (Brad May) of Bedford and April Hartman (Case Copeland) of New Mexico; his aunt Meg Hicks of Chicago, IL; and his uncles, Ken McDonald, Bob Hicks of Bedford and Kim Deckard-Morris. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
