He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Finney and Maxine Finney (Jones); his son Nathan Finney; and his brothers, Ernest Finney and Perry Finney.

He is survived by: his wife Roxann Baker; his son Brandt Finney (Roane); his daughter-in-law Audrey Finney; his grandchildren, Cameron, Bryn and Baker; and his sister Pamela Finney.
