She was predeceased by: her parents, Othmar Hurst and Florence Hurst (Lechner); her husband James D. Harkness; and her brothers, Donnie, Kenny and Charlie Hurst.
She is survived by: her sons, Benjamin Harkness II (Diana) and Gregory Harkness of Odon; her grandchildren, Chelsea Smith (Bryan), Drew Harkness (Rachel), Amanda Harkness and Taylor Harkness; her great grandchildren, Piper Smith, Adria Smith, Tinley LaFree and Lola Harkness; and her sister Mary Senninger of Jasper.
