He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Mires and Marjorie Mires (Fitzgerald); his brother-in-law William "Bill" Tolly; his daughter Mary J. Farmer Brigham; and his son-in-law Michael K. Frederick.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Mires of Petersburg, IN; his children, Gary Mires, Sharie Jamieson of Australia, Candie Robinson (David) of North Dakota, Laura Farmer of Switzerland, Kathy Ziebach (Corey) of Petersburg, Nancy Feeney (Ryan) of Washington, Patricia Frederick of Petersburg, Patrick Farmer (Regina) of Winslow and Carolyn Zimmerman (Cody) of Petersburg; and his siblings, Burton "Butch" Mires (Mary Jane) of McCook and Janice "Jan" Tolly. He is also survived by his family and many friends.
