He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Hamer and Bonnie Hamer (Akers). He is survived by: his wife Anita Hamer; his children, Brittany Poling (Matt) and Kody Hamer (Aeriel); his grandchildren, Cloey French, Landon Poling, Ryder Hamer, Lucas Poling and Logyn Hamer; his siblings, Misty Sevier and Chuck Hamer (Janet); his sisters-in-law, Gina Scott (Dean) and Teresa Barton (Jeff); and his nieces and nephews, Courtney Sevier (DJ), Conner Sevier (Amanda), Justin Mallory (Hannah), Zach McEllhiney (Emily), Damon McEllhiney (Levyn), Tori Smith (Connor), Samantha Scott and Will Scott (Kaylee). He is also survived by numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel (226 E Washington St, Oakland City, IN 47660). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the Forsythe Cemetery.
