He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Timm and Josephine Timm (Otten); his siblings, Robert, Mary Jo Schiel and Genevieve Gantner; and also, Joseph and Josephine Timm.

From 1984 to 2009, he served as chaplain for the Missionaries of Charity and the Holy Cross Sisters.
