He was predeceased by: his parents, Reed Bird and Lenora Nell Bird (Holcomb); his girlfriend Ruth Bird; and his sisters, Dora Lee Young and Judy Bird.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Phelps (Tim) of North Vernon and Christa Bird of North Vernon; his brothers, James R. Bird (Bev) of North Vernon and Charles R. Bird of North Vernon; his grandchildren, Keshia Phelps Little, Dylan Phelps, Addison Jines, Janat Jines, Xander Jackson and Summer Jines; and his great grandchildren, Grimm Phelps, Grey Phelps and Greyson Phelps.
Memorials may be made in honor of Thomas through the funeral home to Smile Train.
