He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Atkins and Nora Atkins (Vaulner); his wife Jerilyn Atkins; and his siblings, Jay Atkins, Deborah Atkins Rodriguez and Celinda Atkins.
He is survived by: his children, Jessie Atkins (Emily) of North Vernon, Paul Atkins of Florida and Jerilee Atkins of North Vernon; and his siblings, Ben Atkins of Florida, Diane Atkins Tubbs of Arkansas and Jana Ruano of Florida. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
