He was predeceased by: his parents, Sid Gabbard and Carrie Jane Gabbard (Combs); his son Larry Gabbard (Ginny-Ames); and his siblings, James Herbert, Earl, Donnie, Elijah, David Gabbard, Ruby Gabbard, Betty Lanham, Della Gabbard and Georgia Day.
He is survived by: his wife Reba Colwell; his children, Sidney Gabbard Jr. (Sherry Rae) of Seymour, John Gabbard (Leslie) of North Vernon, Patricia Miller (Gary) of North Vernon, Carrie Willis (John) of North Vernon and Sharon Chavis (Terry) of Columbus; his sisters, Marie Howell (Jim) of Cincinnati and Henrietta June Franks (Raymond) of North Vernon; his grandchildren, Sara Brockman (Brad), Debbie Carmichael (James), Diana Murphy (Lee), Becky Shelton Colwell, Alexa Meadows (Nick), Collin Willis, Parker Willis (Brittani), Shauna Mahoney (Tom), Melody Bowling, David Gabbard (Laura), Rachel Ault (Mick), Chris Gabbard, Jessica Gabbard, Heather Uebel, Heather Burrow (Adam), Eryn Gabbard, Ali Gabbard, Sean Gabbard (Shelby) and Kyle Gabbard; his great grandchildren, Desiree Drake, Gabriella Mahoney, Katelynn Mahoney, Gabriel Bowling, Taylor Bowling, Molly Brockman, John Brockman, Josiah Carmichael, Bella Carmichael, Zion Carmichael, Rayna Murphy, Pierson Murphy, Adyrah Murphy, Haylee Gullion, Braxton Gullion, Colson Gabbard, Lawson Gabbard, Analise Gabbard, Alijah Gabbard, Reagan Dean Meadows and Chance Gabbard; and his great great grandchildren, Sydney Immenhort and Zachary Drake.
