He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Smith and Sarah Smith (Capps); his wife Pat Smith; and his siblings, Donald Smith and Betty Smith.
He is survived by: his son Randy Runge (Mooch) of North Vernon, IN; his sister Joyce Ball of Williamsburg, KY; his cousin Vanessa Wilson-Craig of North Vernon, IN; his grandson Ryan Runge of North Vernon, IN; his nieces, Tammy Thompson of Williamsburg, KY and Pedano Lay (David) of Corbin, KY; his nephew Roy Dale Johnson (Tonya) of Williamsburg, KY; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Christopher Johnson, Deven Lay, Ronnie Thompson, Erik Lay, Sarah Phipps and Felicia Brown. He is also survived by eight great-great nieces and nephews, many loving cousins, and a host of remarkable friends.
