She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Hartwell and Esther Hartwell (Robbins); her son Derek Sandlin; and her siblings, Marcella Patton, Shirly Adams, Edith Murphy, Russell Hartwell and Joe Hartwell.

She is survived by: her daughters, Dawn Sandlin of North Vernon and Dalynn Lonsberry (David) of North Vernon; and her grandchildren, Dr. Devin Sandlin (Emily) of Texas, Jake Sandlin of Texas, Molly Lonsberry of North Vernon, Cally Lonsberry of North Vernon and Syler Jagger of North Vernon.
