With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Francis Hughes of North Vernon, Indiana, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on October 23, 2022 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Conrad Hughes and Helen Hughes (Buck); his wife Thelma Irene Short; and his brother Kenneth Hughes. He is survived by: his sons, Mike Hughes (Linda) of North Vernon and Gary Hughes (Sandy) of Jasper; and his grandchildren, Rebecca Fry (Nathan) of Pendleton, Andrew Hughes (Candice) of Indianapolis, Ashley Sotomayor (Santiago) of Bloomington, Lori Butler (Shawn) of Cheyenne and Jennifer George (Dave) of North Vernon. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in honor of Richard through the funeral home to American Cancer Society.
