He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Rhodes and Novella Rhodes (Frazier); and his brothers, Nelson Rhodes and Vernon Rhodes. He is survived by: his wife Beth D. Besaw; his son Sergeant Major David R. of St. Petersburg; his daughter-in-law Donnell Rhodes of St. Petersburg; and his grandchildren, Devon Ray Rhodes of St. Petersburg and Bethany Jean Rhodes of St. Petersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to Memphis, Tennessee's St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
