He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gerkin and Donna Gerkin (Stutsman); his son James Clayton Gerkin; and his son-in-law Joshua Stidham. He is survived by: his wife Janet Louise Carnes; his children, Raymond Shawn Gerkin (Chasity) of North Vernon, Rayann Nicole Scott (Michael) of Indianapolis and LeAnn Marie Stidham (Joshua) of North Vernon; his brothers, Ronnie Gerkin of Indianapolis and Donnie Gerkin of Oklahoma City, OK; and his grandchildren, Peyton, Sidney, Laec Gerkin, Lucius, Lachlan, Seamus, Sloane Stidham and Grayson Scott.
Those attending services will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing, seating at the funeral mass will be limited.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Ray Gerkin Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Community Foundation or to the St. Mary's School.
