She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl O'Neal and Tommy Baker O'Neal; her husband Richard Updike; her son Mark N. Updike; and her brother Clyde O'Neal.
She is survived by: her children, Darryl R. Updike of North Vernon, Jon Michael Updike (Julie Totten) of North Vernon, Thomas Updike (Tina) of North Vernon and Jo Ellen Updike (Michael Reavis) of North Vernon; her daughter-in-law Debbie Updike of North Vernon; her grandchildren, Chelsea L. Updike (Josh Cutsinger) of Columbus, Ryan W. Updike (Paige) of North Vernon, Jacob N. Updike of North Vernon, Joshua M. Updike (Cierra) of North Vernon, Tony Allen of North Vernon and Danny Allen (Becky) of North Vernon; and her great grandchildren, Adelynn M. Shinolt of Columbus, Lynnix Cutsinger of Columbus, Hadlie Updike of North Vernon, Gracyn Updike of North Vernon, Karli Updike of North Vernon, Paisleigh Updike of North Vernon, Kynnsleigh Updike of North Vernon and Tommy Allen of North Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mary Jo through the funeral home to Tea Creek Baptist Church.
